چکیده

Abstract Using microsatellite loci, we assessed the mating system and genetic diversity of dioecious tropical tree Genipa americana in a natural population (NP) progeny test (PT). For NP, also estimated paternity correlation within among fruits mean pollen dispersal distance. As expected for species, all offspring originated from outcrossing ( t = 1). Mating relatives (1 − s ) r p were variable progenies 0.03–0.19; 0.04–0.40), but greater NP than PT. Fixation index F was generally significant lower adults offspring, indicating selection against inbred individuals. Paternity higher (0.40) (0.26) fruits, effective number donors N ep (2.5) (3.8) fruits. Due to size e (2.69) PT (3.27). The pattern strongly leptokurtic, suggesting long-distance (mean 179 m). results show that both populations can be used seed collection environmental reforestation programmes; however, considering is structured maternal progenies, more suitable due probability related trees.

phylogeography and genetic diversity of the lesser mouse- eared bat (myotis blythii) in iran

in current study, 63 samples of bat populations collected from differ regions were used for evaluating the geographic variations. twenty cranial and dental characters for traditional morphometric and landmarks method on the ventral, dorsal skull and mandible for geometry morphometric studies were used. statistical analyses of traditional morphometric and geometry morphometric data indicated low...

Mating patterns, pollen dispersal, and the ecological maternal neighbourhood in a Prunus mahaleb L. population.

Gender polymorphism, plant-animal interactions, and environmental heterogeneity are the three important sources of variation in mating system and pollen dispersal patterns. We used progeny arrays and paternity analysis to assess the effects of gender type and density level on variation in mating patterns within a highly isolated population of Prunus mahaleb, a gynodioecious species. All the adu...

Genetic Diversity of Fusarium oxysporum Isolates from Common Bean and Distribution of Mating Type Alleles

Fusarium wilt caused by Fusarium oxysporum Schltdl. f.sp. phaseoli (Fop), is one of the important diseases of the common bean in Iran and many of the bean growing countries. Incidence of the disease has been reported in tropical and semi-tropical regions of the world. This study was carried out to characterize genetic diversity of F. oxysporum isolates from the common bean by vegetative compati...

Using genetic markers to estimate the pollen dispersal curve.

Pollen dispersal is a critical process that shapes genetic diversity in natural populations of plants. Estimating the pollen dispersal curve can provide insight into the evolutionary dynamics of populations and is essential background for making predictions about changes induced by perturbations. Specifically, we would like to know whether the dispersal curve is exponential, thin-tailed (decrea...

Genetic diversity and mating system of Copaifera langsdorffii (Leguminosae/Caesalpinioideae).

Copaifera langsdorffii, locally known as copaíba, is a valuable tropical tree with medicinal properties of its oil. We studied the genetic variation, genetic structure, and the mating system of trees in stands of C. langsdorffii (Leguminosae/Caesalpinioideae) located in an extensive area between the Pardo and Mogi-Guaçu basins in São Paulo State, Brazil, and their offspring, conserved in an ex ...
